Northern Wisconsin's Penokees are an old mountain range.  Today these beautiful weather and glacier-worn  hills and their waterways are threatened by Gogebic Taconite that wants to develop an open pit mine in part of the Penokees.  These pictures were all taken in or downstream of the proposed mine site.  Visit http://www.badriverwatershed.org/index.php/learn/potential-mine-information for more info
